Sandtraps in Hl2. The worst part is the beginning of Episode One, when you are going through the citadel with Alyx. It's supposed to be a slow start and ease you into the game with some exposition and stuff. But if you are coming directly from the ending of HL2, it's just a bit meh.
Ending on the eternal dichotomy between good and evil is not groundbreaking, and not much better of an ending than what we got in Half-Life 2. So just enjoy the games for what they are.
